The Beginning
Hello everyone! I guess I decided to start a blog detailing my baking adventures, just because I can.
THIS. IS. CAKETOWN!!
And I realize most of you won't get the reference behind the title "caketown," but if anyone comments on this post with where it came from, I'll bake you a cake. Or cookies. or brownies. or whatever.
Anyways, I got a book called The Cake Mix Doctor Returns (by Anne Byrn) for Christmas, and it's really awesome, by the way. She takes regular cake mixes and doctors them up, and they're pretty amazing by the time you're done. and they're really easy. and yum. I've been baking from it a lot, and I hope I'll get through all the recipes at some point, but no telling if I will or not. But I'm gonna try.
She is all about making homemade frosting, which has been pretty cool for me, because I didn't realize frosting was so easy. I always figured it'd be hard... guess ya never know until you try, right? Also, it's really good...
So far I've done 4 cakes from this book - unfortunately I don't have photos, because I didn't realize I was going to be blogging about them until after they were eaten. I'll blog more about that later though, this is just an intro post...
